Our Mission
At My Phonics Handwriting Book, we aim to empower young learners through effective handwriting instruction. Our resources are designed to help teachers provide explicit practise that leads to successful writing skills.
When phonics teaching and handwriting instruction are aligned, students are learning how to represent sounds with letters. Throughout each book, we encourage students to say the sounds as they practise writing them, working hand-in-hand with a systematic phonic program to further consolidate speech-to-print knowledge.
Careful planning of each page means that all words and sentences are decodable and all pictures are basic and relevant. This simplicity helps you, as a teacher, to be more focused and direct in your instruction
About us
Jac Dominey is currently an Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction at an inner-city Melbourne Primary School with a passion for early literacy development. Ash Feehely is the current Grade 1 Team Leader at the same school and is on the ground achieving exceptional results in phonics and handwriting for her cohort.
We have one aim with My Phonics Handwriting Book – to support you to teach handwriting confidently, and in turn to secure success for your students in letter formation. We know how hard teaching handwriting can be, because we’ve lived it! We hope this resource makes it a little easier (and more effective) for you
